Rush’s 25th Anniversary
Moving Pictures, Rush’s breakthrough album from 1981, is being reissued for the 25th anniversary of the release. This album’s song, “Tom Sawyer,” became one of their most influential singles, and features a triple-entendre album cover. The album is now available in six configurations, including a Super Deluxe Edition, three-CD Deluxe Edition, five-LP Deluxe Version, one-LP Edition, Digital Enhanced Edition, and Dolby Atmos Digital Edition.
While the band’s songs largely have a pop-rock sound, they’ve also incorporated other styles into their music, from jazz and hip-hop to funk. “Show Don’t Tell” became a No. 1 hit on the US Mainstream Rock Tracks chart, while “Presto” reached the Top Ten in Canada but failed to reach the Top 20 in the US. “Roll the Bones” and “Ghost of a Chance” were big hits on US Mainstream Rock Radio stations, as was “Dreamline”.
The new Rush Super Deluxe Edition features four bonus discs, including the core album remixed in Dolby Atmos and vintage promotional videos. The deluxe edition is also packaged in the original vinyl packaging, including a gatefold jacket and a 20-page booklet filled with previously unreleased band archive photos. Featuring a mix of classic tracks including “The Spirit of Radio” and the cinematic “Jacob’s Ladder,” the deluxe edition is sure to please fans of Rush’s enduring music.
